A passerby is credited with saving lives during a weekend fire at the Chop Shop Hair Salon located across the street from a Wawa on Route 9 in Marmora. Someone put a ladder up to the building and rescued occupants who were inside the building at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and there were no injuries.
