PARKWAY BRIDGE OVER GREAT EGG HARBOR BAY FINALLY OPENS

The new $143 million southbound bridge on the Garden State Parkway opened to traffic on Wednesday after three years of construction. The old southbound bridge over Great Egg Harbor Bay has been closed and is scheduled for demolition. The new bridge will include a multi-use walkway for pedestrians and bicyclists and a fishing area when the project is completed later this fall.
