PAID SICK TIME BILL ADVANCES IN TRENTON

A new bill that would require paid sick time for New Jersey workers has cleared another Assembly committee.  The bill would require businesses with ten or more employees to allow workers to earn at least 72 hours of paid sick time that can be used for themselves, or for caring for relatives.  Only three other states in the union mandate paid sick time in the private sector.  Workers’ groups oppose the bill.
