OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT TEMPORARILY SHUT DOWN

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced that the Oyster Creek nuclear power plant remained shut down Friday morning after a problem with an electric transformer. The shutdown is not related to the nuclear side of the plant and systems will be able to return to service quickly when the electrical problem is resolved. A spokesperson for the NRC said they wanted to find out exactly what caused the problem and shut down the plant for the safety of workers and the public.
