Spring is on its way, and the energy level of the island’s junior high students will fill the Wildwood High School gym March 18 with their zest for life.
The 19th Islandwide “Junior High Night” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Participating in relay events will be 7th and 8th graders from Wildwood Junior High, Cape Trinity Catholic, Margaret Mace, and Crest Memorial Schools. The goal is to get the most points for the evening, and the junior high students will walk, run, hop, jump, skip, and crawl to win for their teams. The junior high delegations will also be scored for most school spirit, best sportsmanship, best artwork, and best depiction of the overall theme, “Living a Healthy Lifestyle.”
Wildwood High senior varsity athletes will coach the student participants, local residents will be the relay officials, and elected municipal officials and other community representatives will handle judging responsibilities.
There is no admission to this energetic event, and the public is cordially invited to attend and enjoy the “organized chaos.” Refreshments will be sold throughout the evening. For further information, contact “Junior High Night” Director Betty Harshaw at WHS, 522-7922 ext 5358.
