More than 2,000 police officers and volunteers went door-to-door in Millville on Thursday in support of the first statewide Knock Out Opiate Abuse Day. The Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey organized the prevention and outreach program, to educate local residents on the dangers of prescription opioids and how they can lead to heroin abuse. Other groups fanned out in neighborhoods throughout Cumberland, Cape May, Atlantic and Ocean counties, spreading the work about opiate abuse.
