Now that jury selection has been completed, the trial of North Wildwood physician John Costino has begun. In his opening arguement, defense attorney John Tumelty told the court that Costino believed he was treating real patients with real problems when he prescribed Percoset, a pain killer, to two undercover officers. Assistant Prosecutor Dara Paley claimed that the two women “patients” never said they were in pain but just needed to “relax”. The trial continues on Wednesday before Judge Raymond Batten.
