The following is a press release from the Trump Plaza, which reopened for business on Sunday following a major problem with electrical service and air conditioning:
July 18, 2010 – Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, NJ will reopen today after being temporarily closed due to a water main leak that provides the company with the necessary cold water for its air conditioning.
Trump Plaza’s casino floor will be back up and operational by 4 pm on Sunday, July 18, 2010 with plans to begin accepting guests into the hotel by 6 pm on that same day. Additionally 24 Central Café will open at 4 pm. Trump Plaza’s Beach Bar has remained open to guests.
All other dining and retail outlets are expected to reopen by Monday, July 19 at noon, with the exception of “V” The Ultimate Variety Show, performing in Trump Plaza’s Theatre, which will re-open on Tuesday, July 20 at 8 pm.
Trump Taj Mahal and Trump Marina were unaffected by the utility issue and both properties continue to be fully open for business.
“We thank our guests and employees for their understanding while we dealt with this unforseen utility issue, over which we obviously had no control,” said Mark Juliano, the chief executive officer of Trump Entertainment Resorts. “We are happy to be reopening today thanks to the hard work of our team, and we look forward to being able to accommodate our loyal guests again this afternoon.”
