Conductors were assigned to the closed Atlantic City Rail Line and were even paid overtime for showing up to the job. Reports say the conductors were working long hours at train stations serving as “ambassadors” to inform people the trains were not running. NJ Transit records show over $164,000 in overtime pay alone.
