Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian is fighting back against an effort by a local citizens group to derail the purchase of a car dealership property. Gillian sent an email Wednesday saying “Fairness in Taxes” is trying to circulate a petition to block the city’s attempt to buy the former Harry Klause car dealership lot. Gillian says residents need to know if the city doesn’t buy the lot, 29 coastal cottages may be constructed instead.
