OCEAN CITY MAY BRING ARTIFICIAL TURF TO CAREY STADIUM

Ocean City could become the first community in the county to offer artificial turf at a major athletic complex.  City Council met on Thursday night and cast first approvals on a bond ordinance that would result in artificial turf being installed at Carey Stadium.  If approved during a second meeting in September, work on the artificial turf project could begin before the holidays.  Officials say the maintenance of an artificial turf field would be much less than a grass field.
