The Ocean City Lady Red Raiders were competitive in their Group III state semifinal matchup against the Ewing Blue Devils, but troubles shooting from the foul line denied OC points they would ultimately need in the end. The Lady Red Raiders had an early lead in the first but Ewing closed the quarter up by four with the score 13-9. Ewing’s Rhian Stokes had four fouls in the first half. Ocean City racked up a 9-0 run in the third while Stokes sat it out and managed to get their deficit down to 2 points as Ewing kept running into foul troubles, but the Red Raiders were down by six, 39-33 at the end of the third. OC tied the game with 4:05 left, but Ewing mounted an 11-1 run, mostly on foul shots to close out the game 55-44. Te’Yala Delfosse, Joi Johnson, and Stokes combined for 53 of Ewing’s 55 points. Tori Vilet led Ocean City with 16 points and four 3-pointers in the first half. The Ewing Blue Devils head to Toms River North for the Group III state final, their first appearance there since 2018.
