OCEAN CITY INTRODUCES ORDINANCE TO REGULATE BOARDWALK PERFORMERS

Ocean City’s council introduced an ordinance Thursday night that will regulate where amateur performers on the boardwalk can perform.  Mayor Jay Gillian told the performers last night that the city is not trying to keep performers away; it is simply trying to create regulations which are fair to everyone.  The ordinance calls for the possibility of criminal background checks for the performers and requires them to obtain a city license.
