On Thursday Ocean City Council unanimously approved a resolution to empty a spoils site and truck the material to Wildwood. The move of approximately 40,000 cubic yards of material will cost $2.7 million and opens up space for storing the mud to be dredged from back-bay areas. Officials estimate that 300,000 cubic yards is planned to be removed from clogged waterways. Earlier this year Ocean City Council approved $5 million for the dredging project. Wildwood will use the spoils to cap a landfill.
