The Ocean City Council passed its proposed zoning flood elevation changes. The vote took place during a Thursday meeting where council took action on the city’s base flood elevation plus 2 ordinance. The new regulation would change the mandatory height of the first floor of a structure from one foot to two feet above base flood elevation. The new ordinance would be in effect for new construction and homes being fixed up at over 50 percent of the home’s assessed valaue
