NUMBER OF WILDWOOD POLICE SUPERVISORS CUT

The Wildwood Police Department will have less supervisors. The governing body in Wildwood voted to reduce the supervision level, but add more officers on the street. A handful of lieutenants and sergeants are being demoted and will have more duties on the street. The police union attended the meeting on Wednesday and spoke in opposition of the move. Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo said no layoffs will take place.
