North Wildwood city officials say they will begin a major beach fill project on the cusp of the busy summer tourism season. The Press of Atlantic City reports today that the city has hired Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company to pump sand onto the beaches in various spots in the community. Some sand will be placed on the north end of town, then the project will restore beaches between 11th and 20th Streets, and then south to 26th Street. The total cost of the project is expected to be in excess of $3 million.
