North Wildwood appears to have a major problem on its hands with the state over its beach project. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection issued a press release stating that the city conducted this work without necessary permits, and in the process, scraped more than eight acres of vegetated dunes. The city also installed a bulkhead without permits. North Wildwood took quick action on a beach project after a major erosion left the city with no beach. The state says North Wildwood has violated various acts and rules, work must cease, and everything that was destroyed must be put back.
