Short term beach erosion that occurred recently in North Wildwood has been attributed to an ongoing combination of tidal currents and wave action. Sections of beach have washed away between Second and Fourth Avenues, and city officials are reportedly going to replenish the area from their own surplus, that has accumulated from 10th to 15th Avenues. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the Stockton Coastal Research Center will survey the North Wildwood coastline in mid-October, to explore how the beaches have changed since the major 2009 beach replenishment project.
