NO TAX INCREASE FOR 2018 ATLANTIC CITY BUDGET

On Wednesday night the Atlantic City Council unanimously adopted a $225 million budget without a property tax increase. The new 2018 budget keeps the tax rate at $1.79 per $100,000 of assessed property value. Officials said the two reasons for the zero tax increase were a $27 million reduction in the number of property-tax appeal refunds, and the sale $49 million in state bonds to pay down debt from 2015.
