It came out that the state doesn’t have a plan B if it has to pay $1.6 billion into the pension plan this fiscal year. A judge had ruled that the state had to make the payment under a previous deal. State treasurer Andrew Eristoff told the Assembly Budget Committee on Monday that the state doesn’t have the money to make the payment and is challenging the decision in court.
