NJTRANSIT TRAIN WAS SPEEDING BEFORE FATAL ACCIDENT

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that a New Jersey Transit train was traveling at twice the speed limit before it slammed into a train station in Hoboken killing one woman and injuring more than 100 others.  The train’s engineer only hit the emergency brake less than a second before the accident.  The train was traveling at 8mph before speeding up to 21mph for about 30 seconds.
