NJEA SAYS THEY WON’T TAKE PART IN PENSION TALKS

The major teacher’s union in the state says they won’t negotiate with Gov. Chris Christie over additional pension reform. Christie said at a recent campaign stop that the only way he would talk about pensions is if the unions were willing to talk about additional givebacks. NJEA President Wendell Steinhauer said those discussions wouldn’t take place because Christie didn’t keep his word the first time when they made a deal over pensions.
