NJ TRANSIT HOLDS PUBLIC HEARING ON FARE INCREASE

New Jersey Transit held a public meeting Monday night on their proposed 9 percent fare increase. A small group of union representatives and transit riders were present to voice their opposition to the rate hike as the agency collected feedback from the public before a final vote on the amount of the increase. The N.J. Transit board of directors is scheduled to vote on the increase on July 8, with the new rates taking effect on October 1st.
