NJ TRANSIT FARE INCREASES APPROVED

Local bus service is going to increase 10 percent on New Jersey Transit. A vote made it official that took place today. Light-rail and local bus service is going up 10 percent; while train riders will swallow a 25 percent hike. The increases are being made because of large-scale cuts implemented by Gov. Chris Christie. There will also be a reduction of service in different areas throughout the state as a way to make up the necessary dollars.
