On Thursday the N.J. State Assembly’s Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing on the Christie administration’s proposed $225 million environmental settlement with Exxon Mobil. The settlement has angered state Democrats, because court documents show damages were estimated at $8.9 billion for polluted sites in Linden and Bayonne. The settlement arrangement also faces a public comment period and must be approved by a judge.
