NEWS MOSTLY POSITIVE FOR MID SEASON TOURISM REPORT CARD

The midseason tourism report card is positive on the whole by the Cape May County Tourism Department. Traffic to the shore is up about 5 percent overall and the occupancy tax is up for the entire year about 9 percent. The biggest negative has been a declining Canadian population traveling to the shore. The exchange rate is at 76 cents for Canadians, the lowest since March 2009.
