WNET will be taking over the operations of New Jersey Network. The Atlantic City Press reports that the New York PBS station will assume operations of New Jersey Network on Friday. The New Jersey Senate failed to block the takeover of NJN, and the new network will be called NJTV. The network will continue to broadcast nightly news and live broadcasts of major Statehouse events. In five years, the agreement between WNET and the state will come up for renewal.
