A 32 year old man from Port Jefferson, New York has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman in Avalon in July, 2018. The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced that Jerry Shields received the prison term on Friday. Shields was indicted on various charges in January, 2019.
