NEW VERIZON DEAL GETS APPROVAL FROM NEW JERSEY BPU

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities unanimously approved a new agreement for Verizon that could drive up landline phone rates for rural customers, including those in Cumberland County. A state union rep called the agreement “a back room deal” that will not be good for seniors and those who live in rural areas. Various pricing regulations for Verizon landline customers have been removed.
