A new software program is being implemented in Atlantic City that could help police prevent crimes. The Atlantic City Police Department, Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, and Rutgers University are implementing a software system to assist police with predicting high-crime and high-risk locations, so that police can intervene efficiently to mitigate and prevent incidents of crime in Atlantic City. The Risk Terrain Modeling system, was developed by Rutgers University that helps police deploy resources and develop risk reduction strategies.
