A snow leopard cub was born at the Cape May County Zoo on May 12. Cape May County Freeholder Director Dan Beyel announced a press conference would be held on Tuesday to meet the club. The male cub was born to Himani and Vijay. This is the second litter in two years for 8 year-old mom ‘Himani’ and 11 year-old dad ‘Vijay’. Last year, they were the proud parents of two Snow Leopard cubs born on May 10, 2010.
With the new cub, the Cape May County Zoo is now home to five Snow Leopards. There were fifteen Snow Leopard Cubs born in seven institutions in 2010 and just two so far in 2011
