Governor Phil Murphy has signed legislation that will allow pharmacies to dispense certain kinds of birth control without a prescription. The new law signed Friday will remove the requirement for patients to seek a prescription to purchase self-administered hormonal contraceptives, like the pill, patch or ring. The law will take effect in May.
