NEW LEGISLATION CRAFTED TO MAKE BOARDS AND AGENCIES PROVIDE PUBLIC RECORDS

A new bill has bipartisan sponsorship to make local boards, authorities, and commissions put up basic information. A new state report found that most of the 587 agencies in the state do not provide the necessary minimal information to the public. The measure would force these groups to maintain a website that put information like budgets, employee numbers, and meeting times on that site.
