The Toms River National Little League team clinched its birth in the Little League World Series. Toms River beat Council Rock-Newtown (Pa.) 8-5 on Monday to secure the final birth in the tournament. They will next play Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday at 11 a.m. on ESPN. Toms River East made three trips to Williamsport in the 90’s, winning the whole thing in 1998.
