A New Jersey seashore resort has cancelled a plan that would restrict parking next to a beach for only those who carry municipal parking permits. The shore community of Deal wanted to allow parking next to a beach on six streets if the drivers had permits from the town. That raised a huge stink from fishermen and tourists who say their tax dollars fund Deal’s beach efforts, yet the town wanted to restrict parking to only residents. An ordinance that would create the parking restriction has been tabled.
