The minimum wage in New Jersey could be going up. Democratic leaders in Trenton announced on Monday that legislation to eventually raise New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 an hour has been approved by a Senate committee Monday. The wage could reach the $15 mark by the year 2021. Business groups and Governor Christie are both against the legislation, saying it will be too costly for business owners. The wage would increase to $10.10 in 2017 under this legislation.
