NEW JERSEY COP SHOT AND KILLED AT WALGREENS

A police officer with the Jersey City Police Department was fatally shot early Sunday morning inside a Walgreens in his community.  Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop told reporters that Melvin Santiago was shot in the head while responding to a robbery at a Walgreens store in the city.  Santiago was the first officer who responded to the crime scene.  The suspect was shot and killed by other police officers.
