NEW DRAWBRIDGE COMING TO ROUTE 50

The State of New Jersey is replacing the old drawbridge on Route 50 over the Tuckahoe River.  State officials announced right before the weekend that the project will cost nearly $12 million and is being funded by the federal government.  The highway next to the drawbridge will also be widened as part of the project.  South State Incorporated has won the bid for the project and some preliminary work will begin this week.
