NEW DAY CREATED IN MEMORY OF FRED BAKER

A brand new day will be celebrated each year in New Jersey, and it pays tribute to former local corrections officer Fred Baker.  Acting Governor Kim Guadagno signed a new bill into law Tuesday that designates every July 30th as “Corrections Officer Day” in New Jersey.  The bill was drafted in the memory of Baker, a Middle Township resident who was killed by an inmate at a local prison back in July, 1997.
