NEW CUMBERLAND COUNTY BUDGET APPROVED ON FIRST READING

A budget has been introduced in Cumberland County to the tune of $158 million. The budget is again asking for $82 million to be raised in taxes, but no decision has been made as to whether taxes will have to go up. No word has been released on how much budget surplus would be used and some other details have not yet been released to the public. A public hearing will take place towards the end of June.
