New legislation is being sponsored to increase penalties on drunk drivers. Assemblyman Nelson Albano told Coastal Broadcasting that the bill, “Eddie’s Law,” relates to a man who was killed in a hit and run and the driver tried to cover it up by rubbing deer blood on his car. Albano says he thinks many people flee so they won’t be charged as a drunk driver or if they are under the influence of drugs. The proposed bill would put second and third degree charges against the driver.
