Major networks and news organizations have already given New Jersey’s gubernatorial race to democrat Phil Murphy. Various exit polls show Murphy doing very well throughout the State and Murphy will follow Chris Christie in the governor’s seat when the numbers are counted up.
Murphy is 60 years old and will become the first democratic governor in New Jersey since Jon Corzine, who lost a re-election bid to Christie back in 2009. Murphy will be sworn in on January 16th, and it’s expected that both the Assembly and the Senate will also be in the control of the Democratic Party.
