The commissioner of the National Basketball Association would like to enlist Governor Chris Christie’s help with legalizing sports betting in the United States. Adam Silver announced this week that he’s asking Christie to help with efforts to convince Congress that sports betting should be legalized in this country. New Jersey had repealed its own law prohibiting sports betting in October. Silver believes $400 billion annually is wagered on professional sports illegally in the United States.
