Senator Robert Menendez has proposed new federal legislation that would extend the National Flood Insurance Program for another six years while fixing issues that were experienced during Hurricane Sandy. Menendez says the extension of the program would prevent large rate increases for shore property owners while spending money to help prevent future flood damage at coastal properties.
