Changes at the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission will make it easier to renew your license. The state announced new hours that will keep the agency open on Mondays now.
Coming next year, the MVC will also begin the implementation of a new, secure system that will allow drivers to easily renew their licenses by the Web or mail. The move will reduce the need to visit an agency from once every four years to once every eight years and will allow over 1 million customers per year the opportunity to “skip the trip” to the MVC by renewing on line.
Beginning next month, all 39 motor vehicle agencies will move to the following schedule:

| • Tuesday | 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. |
| • Wednesday | 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. |
| • Thursday | 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. |
| • Friday | 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. |
| • Saturday | 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. |
