A Pleasantville man who was arrested and released on a GPS monitoring bracelet was sentenced to 35 years in New Jersey State Prison last week for first-degree drug charges and multiple weapons charges. He must serve at least 18 years before becoming eligible to be paroled. From March 2010 through November 2011, Shakeem Young, 25, was arrested a total of three times for multiple drug and weapons charges. It is alleged that on January 19, 2012, Mr. Young removed his GPS tracking device. On January 25, Mr. Young was charged with third-degree escape for removing his assigned GPS bracelet.
