A majority of state residents that have heard of the charges against U.S. Senator Robert Menendez believe that the indictment was politically motivated but that he is probably guilty. A new Monmouth University Poll also says that state residents believe Menendez should be able to stay in office until the trial takes place. Despite the recent indictment, Sen. Menendez’s approval rating remains marginally positive with more New Jersey adults approving (42%) rather than disapproving (37%) of the job he is doing.
