The Jersey Shore is performing well this summer season, following a wash out in June last year. The temperatures have been good and tourism officials say traffic to the shore is up. Cape May County Tourism Director Diane Wieland told Coastal Broadcasting that she believes that this summer will be stronger in numbers of people than last year, but is trying to compare numbers to 2008, because of the rainy June last year. Wieland says the questions remains whether the additional traffic means more dollars for business. It will remain to be seen what impact the economy will have on spending this summer.
