Using cameras to fight crime is something Vineland officials think is a good idea. The city is about to turn on 18 cameras and wants the total number to reach 30 before the end of the year. Council is going to vote tonight on the matter. The city is looking at a combination of regular cameras and license plate checking cameras. The regular cameras are supposed to deter and help solve crimes. The others check license plate numbers so police can find vehicles they are looking for.
